A Penguin Book Cover Design Award entry for 2017. The brief was to design a cover for the non-fiction novel 'In Cold Blood' by Truman Capote for a new generation of readers, avoiding obvious clichés.
The concept of the design focuses on the tattoo's of the two protagonists, which depict their personalities and the permanence of their actions. The tattoo illustrations are paired with a colour palette of red and navy that reflect the themes of death and violence that run throughout the book.
